The Magnus Effect

In room 5 we have been learning about the Magnus Effect. The Magnus Effect is when you spin a ball from a height backwards and the wind is going each way towards each other around the ball. Since it was thrown backwards, the wind at the back pushes forward and causes the ball to go forwards. It was named after Heinrich Gustav Magnus, who was a German chemist and physicist.
